Arm Lift Planner

  • First consultation with Dr. Agha- This will take about 1 hour.
  • Pre-operative appointment- During this session, our surgical coordinator will cover any questions that you may have, will provide you with your prescriptions and pre- and post-operative instructions, surgery center paperwork, and your arm lift consent forms.
  • Date of arm lift surgery- Arrive 1 hour before the surgery to complete any remaining paper work and to be seen and marked by Dr. Agha
  • Arm lift surgery- This will take 2 to 3 hours in total.
  • After arm lift surgery- You will be kept in the post-operative holding area for about 1 hour before being discharged with a responsible adult. You will go home with ACE bandages to both arms. Leave these in place for 3 days.
  • Day 4 after your arm lift- You may remove all dressings and take a shower 3 days after your arm lift surgery. Do not scrub the incision. Place clean dressing (surgi-pad) over the incision and wrap the ACE bandage again, starting below the elbow and moving towards the arm pit.
  • Day 5 after your arm lift- You will see Dr. Agha for your first post-operative appointment. Keep wearing your ACE bandages and elevate your arms. You should be finishing your antibiotics. You may start light activities, especially walking.
  • Day 10 after your arm lift- You will see Dr. Agha for post-operative follow-up. Keep wearing your ACE bandages. You should be off pain killers. You may start light activities but no lifting.
  • Day 21- You will see Dr. Agha for post-operative follow-up. Your incision should be almost healed at three weeks. If so, you may swim in a pool or sea. Also, at this stage, you may apply scar creams or silicone tape to your incisions.
  • Your next follow ups will be at 6 weeks, 3 months, and 6 months.
